Geochemical Atlas of the South Baltic, 1:500,000 The following contents were determined in sediment samples from 368 research stations: TOC, Al, As, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, P, Pb, S, Sr, V and Zn. An analysis of the sediment grain size was also performed. On this basis were created maps of the content of individual elements in the surface layer of seabed sediments. This made it possible to estimate the geochemical condition and determine the changes that have occurred as a result of the intensive development of economic activity in the Baltic Sea catchment area over the last 100-150 years.
