Division of Poland into 172 water bodies valid in 2016-2021

During the second planning cycle, the state hydrogeological service verified the boundaries of the JCWPd, implementing new criteria for divisions and taking into account the Map of Poland's hydrographic division (MPHP). As a result of these works, a new division of Poland into JCWPd was created - 172 parts and 3 subparts were created.

According to the definition given in the Water Framework Directive, groundwater bodies include those groundwater that occur in aquifers with porosity and permeability, enabling a significant uptake in water supply to the population or a flow of significant intensity for shaping the desired state of surface waters and terrestrial ecosystems.
