Risk of depopulation in the Autonomous Community of Valencia (2022)

Description

Risk of depopulation of the Valencian Community. The main information is represented as the thematic variable called depopulation risk, at the municipal level and categorized into the values: very high, high and moderate. To determine the level of risk, the following 6 demographic indicators are analyzed: population density, population growth in the last decade, vegetative growth rate in the last decade, aging index, dependency index and migration rate in the last decade. The classification of each municipality is established according to the following criterion: - Very high risk: where the requirements laid down for all indicators are simultaneously met in the municipality. - High risk: when the requirements are met for at least five of the depopulation indicators. - Moderate risk: when the requirements are met in at least four of the indicators, or the population of the municipality is equal to or less than 100 inhabitants. - Other municipalities: when it meets the requirements on a smaller number of indicators and the population exceeds 100 inhabitants.
