School food menus for Ale municipality's schools
Description
School food menus are presented in a web-based interface with RSS functionality per school, for schools in the municipality. By the schools' food canteens sharing the information to the service Skolmaten.se, it ends up in the app developed for that service. Skolmaten is available as an app for all mobile platforms.
The food per school is presented as an RSS feed and can therefore be adapted and added to apps in smartphones and tablets or other platforms and services that support RSS to create a menu that is presented in, for example, a calendar. In this way, both children and parents can easily access the school menu for their school in the way they want, day by day.
The service is provided by agreement between the municipality and Skolmaten.se and it is the respective school itself that places the information, which guarantees high quality - the information is shared close to the source and often by the function that oversees the school canteen at each school unit.
