Description
The data product consists of Traffic Safety Class-Crossing phenomena belonging to the STVDB product group and the Administrative Phenomenon Types product subgroup of STVDB. Describes intersections where the road network has been classified from a road safety perspective. The product is displayed on NVDB on the web, but access to download requires ordering from the manager, see contact information. The Road Safety Regulation - based on Directive 2008/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council - requires road operators, among other things, to draw up a comprehensive description and analysis of the Trans-European Network (TEN) consisting of a survey of road safety standards. An important aim of the EU is to increase road safety on this designated road network. According to the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations and general advice, the mapping of road safety standards must be carried out on a road network divided into different classes depending on the safety standard of the route. Within the Swedish Transport Administration, an important aim is to achieve systematic road safety work by, based on the best scientific knowledge, mapping the road safety standards, steering towards cost-effective safety measures and a systematic follow-up of the benefits and effects of various measures.
