Modal data and thermal conductivity
Description
Modal data and thermal conductivity figures show observed mineral composition from samples and calculated for different rocks. The thermal conductivity figure has been calculated for each sample as a weighted geometric mean based on data on the volume shares of the individual minerals and their thermal conductivity figures. These data have been used as a basis for the product Thermal conductivity in the bedrock (open data) where the thermal conductivity of rocks has been classified based on Modal data and thermal conductivity. The information can be used for general planning of geothermal energy installations.
