The data product ISA, which belongs to the product group Processed Road Data Products (i.e. data taken from several products and compiled), contains the speed limit according to traffic regulations and a flag for whether the road section is a Branch (from the product Road Number), as well as a deviation marking indicating that the maximum permitted speed is unclear for a route. Routes that have such an anomaly marking have been created on the basis of an anomaly report where someone, usually a vehicle driver, noticed that the speed limit according to a road sign and the corresponding information in the on-board equipment does not match. Discrepancies reported, which are due to a difference between RDT and NVDB, are not recorded as discrepancies and are therefore not included in the ISAs, as such deficiencies should be corrected immediately in the NVDB Speed Limit. The purpose of the product is to support and inform the driver of the applicable speed limit. The refined product makes it easy to access information without having to go to multiple sources of basic data. Because the product contains ambiguities, reported as discrepancies, in addition to regular ISA data, the product can be used in business-critical applications, e.g. in car insurance where the driver's insurance fees are affected by the driving style. On routes marked as unclear, i.e. deviation report exists, applications can disregard the driving style when the speed limit in the database is exceeded.
