Description
The physical platform is a structure used for passenger embarkation and disembarkation (travel exchange). For the data product Platform, height and length are the most important attributes. The height should only be able to adopt certain standard values while the length of the platform should be able to vary widely. Normally, existing platforms have any of the heights low, medium or high. For newly built platforms, the default values are TSI high or TSI between. TSI stands for Technical Specification for Interoperability. New platforms are not built as low. The length determines how long trains can be served at the platform and is an important task for train operators. The width of the platform shall be described as average width as not all platforms have the same width over the entire length of the platform. Average width is essential information for procurement of, for example, snow removal. The standard of the platform in terms of the material of the edge of the platform (concrete, steel, etc.) and coating (asphalt, slabs, gravel, etc.) as well as weather protection shall be described by additional attributes. The Radius < 500 m attribute indicates whether the curve radius of the track along the platform has a radius less than or equal to 500 m. The data product has a stretch distribution and connects to the network with reference to the immediately preceding node and the immediately preceding kilometre board with distance in metres to both the start and end position of the section in the direction of the track link and with indication of the lateral position of the object in relation to the direction of the track link (right or left). Platform may appear on more track links.
