NVDB Limited gross weight
Description
The data product includes data on traffic rules, issued by regulation or other decision, on limitation to a lower gross weight of vehicles or road trains than otherwise applies. The data product consists of the phenomenon type Limited gross weight belonging to the product group NVDB and the product subgroup Traffic rule phenomenon types in NVDB. The data product is registered on the car network. The purpose of the data product is to provide customers with information on road sections where traffic is regulated by indicating the maximum authorised weight of vehicles or road trains. This information can prevent heavy-duty vehicle traffic from taking these roads. Exemptions for certain types of vehicles are possible. Traffic control can be used to make it easy to see where traffic is restricted through regulation. The user can also see where on the road a regulation of traffic begins and ends. For example, a limited gross weight of vehicles or road trains can be used to prevent heavy traffic on sensitive roads during thawing.
