Municipal road maintenance areas
Description
municipal road maintenance areas (surface, polygon); Reports the extent of areas where the municipality is a road keeper of public roads. Each polygon represents a municipal road maintenance area. Each municipal road maintenance area comprises one or more agglomerations or an entire municipality. The purpose of the data product is to visualize the extent of the respective municipal road maintenance area. The data product shall report where the boundary is between municipal and state road operators of public roads. It is important to have a well-defined delimitation of the municipal road maintenance area because the Swedish Transport Administration is not the road operator for public roads within the area, except for the few roads with an overall function that have been excluded. Which roads have been excluded is shown in the decision documentation. Key attributes: Municipality – Name of road-holding municipality Urban area – Name of the agglomeration in the municipality for which the municipal road maintenance area is linked The need exists internally within the Swedish Transport Administration (e.g. road network investigator, urban planner, operation, etc.) but also externally (municipalities, county administrative boards, etc.) to be able to access the extent of the municipal road maintenance areas in an easily understandable and easily accessible way.
