Description
The data product consists of three types of places that are important for rail traffic: • stop-place on the line, intended for boarding and alighting, but without a change of gear or a movable bridge in the main track • stop-place with a special name within an operating point intended for boarding and alighting. • other place - a place that is not an interchange by definition but where there is a need to name the place. Other interchanges, operational site with operational site parts and route location are included in a separate data product; Place/place in the middle. Name and signature (an abbreviation of name) are two important attributes of the data product. When new interchanges are built, the name and abbreviation are determined by the Swedish Transport Agency before they are added to the data product. This also applies if the name or abbreviation changes at an existing interchange. The operational part and the rest of the site are former interchanges or potential interchanges and have established the name and abbreviation as well as the stopping point. In combination with good safety communication, a unique name for each interchange ensures that no misunderstandings arise between traffic management and staff working in the track environment. The computer product has coordinates in SWEREF 99 TM and has certain traffic-related data as if boarding and alighting is possible. The data product has a point distribution and connects to the railway network with reference to the immediately preceding node and the immediately preceding kilometre board with distances in metres in the direction of the track link. Stop/Hållställe/Other location may appear on more track links.
