Cycleability classification of roads in Skåne
Description
Bicyclability classification of roads in Skåne is a classification of car and bicycle road networks from the National Road Database (NVDB). The aim is to classify all roads according to how good they are to cycle on from a road safety perspective. By doing so, it improves the ability to create good cycling maps and to make better routings for cycling. In January 2023, the classification of classes has been revised and two classes have been added for greater clarity: C0 and X. In addition, class B1 has been expanded with roads where cycling is not only prohibited but also strongly discouraged. The latter concerns mid-separated roads. In addition, we are renaming the attribute of the rating from TS_class to CB_class The following classification is the result: C0: gangway C1: Asphalted cycle path C2: Unpaved cycle path C3: Cycle lane B1: Really low-traffic or narrow road B2: Low-volume road B3: Road that is doubtfully suitable for cycling B4: Road not recommended for cycling B5: Road with ban on cycling G1: Gravel road with presumed higher standard G2: Other gravel road X: unclassified
