Description
A loading point is a defined area connected to the railway network and intended for loading and unloading goods and load carriers or transhipping from railway to other modes of transport. Loading places usually have a track and an associated loading area. The loading area usually consists of a hardened ground surface, but it can also be a loading dock. At a number of loading places in the country, the Swedish Transport Administration offers the service "Capacity at loading place" where the railway undertaking applies for time on both the loading track and the ground surface. In connection with some loading areas there is also a storage area that can be rented. The data product contains loading points that are located in the Swedish railway network. The following key attributes shall be present: Loading position type indicates whether the loading position is a loading berth or a ground surface. Note: In cases where loading bays and ground surfaces are located adjacent to each other, there are several loading sites, one for each of them. •Category describes whether the place of loading can be used directly (category A) or if smaller (category B) or larger (category C) operations are required prior to use. Measures can be, for example, vegetation clearance or track refurbishment The geometry of the loading area for loading areas of the type Load quay is described using the attributes: • height (m), width (m), length (m) The load capacity attribute is described if loading from a loading berth can be done from the end of the wagons, from the side or via both of these options. For loading positions of the Ground area type, it is the attributes width (m) and length (m) that describe the geometry. The data product has stretch distribution and connects to the railway network with reference to the immediately preceding node and the immediately preceding kilometre board with distances in metres to both the start and end position of the section in the direction of the track link. There are also objects with point propagation, namely objects where the load capacity attribute has end loading as a value.
