Limit of 300 meters of the low-water mark - Métropole
Description
The limit of 300 meters of the low-water mark is located 300 meters downstream of the instantaneous shoreline delimited downstream the special police area of bathing and nautical activities practiced with unregistered equipment (Law 86.2 so-called "coastal law" of 3/01/1986).
It is placed under the authority of the mayor. This is also the limit of the navigation area limited to 5 knots. The actual limit fluctuates with the tide. The limit generated in this file corresponds to a situation at low tide of coefficient 120 and therefore to the maximum extension. It was generated by calculation from hydrographic zero to 1/50000. In the upstream part of estuaries, as well as on freshwater bodies, this file should be confronted with the file of municipalities benefiting from the classification in coastal commune (operation not carried out to date). The source data are data derived by calculating elements contained in the BDBS SHOM (IFREMER construction).
