Hydroline CEI: areas suitable for the establishment of pilot farms
Description
The development of marine renewable energies, driven by the Grenelle Environment Forum, will require an electricity production of 6 000 MW by 2020.
The designation of 4 zones suitable for the development of offshore wind farms and the launch of a call for tenders for 2 additional zones should allow the production of 3 000 MW to be achieved.
In order to achieve the electricity production target set and given that the country has the second largest hydroline deposit in Europe, the government has committed to supporting the development of the hydroline sector.
The layer locating the identified suitable areas will therefore make it possible to initiate consultation with a view to launching a Call for Expression of Interest (AMI) concerning the installation of turbines.
