French Coastal Trail (Metropolis and Overseas)
Description
The coastal path must allow pedestrians to access the sea shore and walk as much as possible along the coastline.
It refers to the entire route open along the sea.
It does not have a single legal status as it consists of sections of a different legal nature. Depending on the nature of the land bordering the public maritime domain, the trail passes over the public domain of the State or local authorities, or over private property.
The entire path constituting the coastal path includes the path open to pedestrians, the linear of path to study or accessible in the short term, the linear of inaccessible coastline.
The sections are one of the main elements for identifying the location, route and use of the coastal path.
This layer treats the sections of the French coastal path on part of the metropolitan coastal departments, the French Antilles, Guyana and Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. Eventually, the data will be available on the entire metropolitan coastline and overseas.
