PT1 and PT2_Protection and clearance zones
Description
In order to ensure the propagation of radio waves emitted or received by radio centres, public utility easements (SUPs) are established pursuant to Articles L. 54 to L. 62 of the Post and Electronic Communications Code in order to protect: - Electronic communications by radio against obstacles; - Radio receptions against electromagnetic disturbances. A plan for the institution of servitudes approved by ministerial order determines the areas that are subject to servitudes. Four types of zones can be created: - Primary clearance zones and/or secondary clearance zones established on the basis of the risk of total or partial obstruction of the volume of free-space propagation of antennas around each radio-wave transmitting or receiving station, as well as around radio laboratories and research centres; - Special clearance zones between two centres providing a radio link with a frequency of more than 30 megahertz; - Clearance areas around radiodetermination or radionavigation stations for transmission or reception. Owners, holders of rights in rem or occupants affected by such easements must refrain from any act likely to impair the proper functioning of the radio centres.
