Biomethanisation facilities (material-waste recycling) in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha
Description
Biological treatments are treatment operations by biodegradation of organic matter both separately collected (FORS) and those present in the rest fraction where there is no separate collection, combining in the latter case with complementary mechanical treatments. Biomethanisation or anaerobic digestion is a biological process that, in the absence of oxygen and over several stages involving a heterogeneous population of microorganisms, allows to transform the most degradable fraction of organic matter into biogas, a mixture of gases formed mainly of methane and carbon dioxide and other gases in a smaller proportion (water vapor, CO, N2, H2, H2S,...).
