Sites of Community Importance (SCI) in Castilla-La Mancha (Red Natura 2000)
Description
In Spain, Law 42/2007 of 13 December 2007 on Natural Heritage and Biodiversity defines them as “those areas of the whole of the national territory or of maritime waters under national sovereignty or jurisdiction, including the exclusive economic zone and the continental shelf (...) which contribute significantly to the maintenance or, where appropriate, the restoration of favourable conservation status of natural habitat types and habitats of species of Community interest (...) in their natural range”.
