Vine varieties authorised in Castilla-La Mancha

Description

Royal Decree 740/2015 regulating the potential for wine production and amending R.D. 1079/2014 on support measures for the wine sector for the period 2014-2018 divides Vitis varieties for the production of wine grapes into 2 categories: authorised and plant conservation and lays down the requirements for their classification into those categories. In addition, it gives the Autonomous Communities the responsibility to classify in their territorial scope the varieties of the genus Vitis intended for the production of wine grapes. In accordance with this new scheme, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Environment and Rural Development issued Order 87/2019 of 3 June 2019 amending Order 202/2018 of 28 December 2018 regulating the potential for wine production in Castilla-La Mancha, laying down the list of vine varieties authorised in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha.
