Wetland inventory VMI: vectorization of newly digitized objects
Description
The Wetland Inventory (VMI) was carried out between 1981 and 2005. All inventoried wetlands have been aerial picture interpreted and this is documented on interpretation sketches. The exception is Norrbotten County, which performed the aerial image interpretation digitally from the beginning. Work on geo-correcting the interpretation sketches and making them digitally available (in raster format) has been ongoing since 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2022. The results are available through the Environmental Data Portal.
The geocorrected interpretation sketches (rasters) have now started to be converted to GIS layers in vectors starting in 2021, both for delimitation of objects and sub-objects as well as internal objects on land islets and water. In addition, more attribute data has been included compared to the vector layer 2010. It is still unclear when the work for all counties will be completed.
Download files are gradually uploaded under each county in subfolder "5. GIS layer". For download, there are currently object layers 2021 for Uppsala County.
