Landscape protection area
Description
Landscape protection is an older form of protection (formed on the basis of Section 19 of the Nature Conservation Act) and a concept that does not exist in the Environmental Code. It is gradually being replaced by other forms of protection, but until then the provisions in the landscape protection areas will apply. Special regulations have been developed for each landscape protection. The protection regulates buildings, roads and other facilities that can have a negative effect on the landscape. It does not regulate forestry and agriculture. The county administrative boards deal with landscape image protection.
