County map (georeferred map sheets)
Description
The county economic map (1859-1934) was based on fixed parcel maps and describes land use, vegetation, settlements, communications and boundaries. However, it does not cover the whole of Sweden, but only parts of Götaland and Svealand and a number of leaves in Norrbotten County. The scale is 1:20,000 in the southern part of the country and 1:50,000 in Norrbotten.
District maps are available in raster format (tif) and within this assignment a geo-referencing of the maps in southern Sweden took place. Geocorrection has been done automatically by using a grid with corner coordinates for the maps. The geocorrection is therefore rough which users need to pay attention to.
