National park plan

Description

In the National Park Plan for Sweden (2008), the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency presents a long-term plan with new and expanded national parks. The selection was based on the provisions of the Environmental Code, international and Swedish criteria for national parks. The National Park Plan forms a top layer of major valuable areas in the country. The plan is to see as an overall account of areas that, according to the current assessment, are suitable to be included in the country's network of national parks. It is therefore more of a wish list or action programme for the creation of national parks than a plan for its implementation. The boundaries of the areas are approximate.
