Inventory: The Wetland Inventory (VMI) in Sweden, quality-assured 2020s
Description
The Wetland Inventory (VMI) was carried out between 1981 and 2005. All inventoried wetlands have been aerial imaged. The interpretation is documented on interpretation overlays containing the delimitation of the objects, delimitation of sub-objects and other information such as hydrology, hydromorphology, tree cover and interventions. Interpretation overlays have been archived at the county administrative board since the inventory. The exception is Norrbotten County, which performed the aerial image interpretation digitally from the beginning based on the vegetation map.
In order to make the interpretation overlays digitally available, they have been photographed and geo-corrected (SWEREF 99 TM). For the counties that are ready, delivery for download is gradually added up. Delivery description including quality control is shown in Delivery PM for each county (available in each county's download file in subfolder "4. Interpretation sketches"). Currently, the following counties are ready: Stockholm, Värmland, Uppsala, Jämtland, Blekinge, Västmanland, Södermanland, Gävleborg, Dalarna, Kalmar, Gothenburg and Bohus, Älvsborg, Skaraborg, Jönköping, Västernorrland, Halland, Gotland, Örebro and Västerbotten.
