Description
As a member state of the EU, Sweden is covered by the Noise Directive (2002/49/EC) and must carry out strategic mappings of noise from major roads, railways, airports and industries, as well as municipalities with more than 100 000 inhabitants every five years. The mapping shall be carried out using an EU-wide methodology. The calculation method to be used is Cnossos-EU, Common Noise Assessment Methods in Europe.
In addition to municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, roads with more than 3 million vehicles per year, railways with more than 30,000 trains per year and airports with more than 50,000 flight movements per year will be surveyed.
The mapping is done in the EU-measures Lden and Lnight. In Lden, special attention is paid to whether noise occurs in the evening and at night.
