The departmental plan of walking and hiking routes (PDIPR) of the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle (54)

The PDIPR is a real tool for the development and promotion of routes, it must meet the following objectives:
protéger les chemins ruraux et le patrimoine rural,
créer un réseau cohérent, homogène, pérenne et de qualité adapté à la pratique de la randonnée équestre, pédestre et VTT,
favoriser la découverte de sites naturels et paysages ruraux et proposer ainsi une offre plurielle et de qualité qui s’inscrit dans le développement touristique et économique local,
développer la dimension culturelle des chemins et contribuer ainsi à la cohésion des territoires qu’ils irriguent.

All types of paths, regardless of their status, are likely to integrate the PDIPR.

The June 2012 Regulation made it possible to classify each route by interest as follows:
Départemental : the routes forming the backbone of the Plan by helping to maintain the link to the territories and to serve as a support for discovery and exchanges (long-distance and long-distance country trails),
Local : small and medium-sized hiking routes that promote the preservation of rural heritage and offer the possibility of walks.

Since the adoption of the plan in December 2013 and its update in March 2018, the Department has been asked to extend it to various creation and rehabilitation projects.

These projects have been the subject of a study and consultation process between the various actors, such as territories, intermunicipalities, municipalities and hiking associations.

The new update of the Plan proposed to you here was adopted by the departmental assembly in session on 25 May 2021.

It now comprises 3378 km of protected paths, i.e. 484 hiking routes spread over 424 municipalities, including:
8 itinéraires de grande randonnée
3 itinéraires de grande randonnée de pays
473 itinéraires de petite randonnée
