Structured follow-up is carried out for some time after the patient’s onset of outpatient care: 3 to 6 months for stroke and 1 to 3 months at TIA. Stroke-oriented structured follow-up refers to follow-up in accordance with the guidelines of the National Board of Health and Welfare. Follow-up can, for example, be based on structured checklist, Post-Stroke Checklista (PSC), Swedish version. Special knowledge of stroke refers to some type of education or training, such as training leading to the STROKE-riksförbundet’s certificate of competence such as WebbStrokeKompetensEducation (Webb-SKU) or individual postgraduate education at university or higher education level.
