Description
The proportion of patients with stroke who, in the event of acute illness, are treated directly in a stroke unit or ICU and not in another ward. A stroke unit is a specialised inpatient unit that takes full or almost full care of patients with stroke and TIA and is managed by a multidisciplinary team, particularly knowledgeable in stroke care.
