Description
Proportion of patients with acute ischaemic stroke receiving reperfusion therapy with thrombolysis or thrombectomy. Patients of all ages are included. Reperfusion therapy aims to dissolve or remove the blood clot that caused the stroke, thereby reducing the brain damage caused by the clot and improving the prognosis. In thrombolysis, the blood clot is dissolved with blood clot-dissolving medicines. Thrombectomy involves the mechanical removal of the clot in the brain, using endovascular technology.
