Description
Percentage of people aged 18 years and older with diabetes in primary care who have an HbA1c value above 70 mmol/mol. A high HbA1c value leads to an increased risk of diabetes complications such as myocardial infarction and angina, ischaemic stroke, high blood pressure, vascular narrowing of the bones and eye diseases. The current target level actually refers to patients with type 2 diabetes, but since the majority of patients treated in primary care belong to the sample, the target level is considered to be representative.
