The socio-economic sorting key provides an indication of the relative risk of financial assistance in the municipality compared to the country’s municipalities as a whole, based on residents’ labour market ties and income levels. For Group 1 municipalities, a relatively low risk is indicated and for Group 8 municipalities a relatively high risk is indicated. Until 2012, the scale was 1-10 and was also based on the level of education of the inhabitants.
