Description

Topicalisation is when a circumstance that may give rise to an action by the Social Welfare Board comes to its knowledge. The application for assistance is the most common form of updating, but cases can also be raised through other activities within the social services, police or other external parties. Violence in close relationships refers to adults (18 years of age or older) who are or have been subjected to violence or other abuse by loved ones. See also Delimitations on the Start tab. The term “violence” includes all forms of violence, such as psychological, physical, sexual, economic, material and neglect. The term “related” is gender neutral and refers to any person with whom the victim is deemed to have or has had a close and trusting relationship. Updates due to honour-related violence are also included in the key speech.
