Organisation of waste management, (coded response options)
Description
This shows how municipal waste management is organised. Waste management can be carried out in 1 = Own municipal administration, 2 = Municipal association, 3 = Joint Board, 4 = Own company or 5 = Co-owned company. Joint Board refers to the collaboration of waste management between two or more municipalities in a joint board. A jointly owned company means if two or more municipalities have transferred waste management to a company that is responsible for operations. Some municipalities work together on certain parts of waste management, such as the treatment of waste. These are not included in the statistics for jointly owned companies.
