Description
The number of kilograms of food waste from households, restaurants, mass caterers and shops that are sorted out and treated biologically through digestion so that both plant nutrients and energy are taken into account divided by the total number of kilograms of food waste generated from households, restaurants, mass caterers and shops. Multiply by 100 for accounting as a percentage. Losses in handling, such as rectification to incineration, are excluded by means of lump sums. ‘Derived food waste’ means the amount of biodegradable waste resulting from food management that could be used for human consumption.
