Description
The number of kilograms of food waste from households, restaurants, mass caterers and shops collected and used for biological treatment and home composting/food waste disposal to sewers divided by the total number of kilograms of food waste generated from households, restaurants, mass caterers and shops. Multiply by 100 for accounting as a percentage. Losses in handling, such as rectified incineration, are not excluded. ‘Derived food waste’ means the amount of biodegradable waste resulting from food management that could be used for human consumption.
