The model calculation is based on building structure and population variables. The model calculation is set against the indicator that indicates developed fires in buildings. The data have been extracted from the Swedish Rescue Service’s intervention register, which is based on the response reports drawn up by the rescue services following interventions/emergencies. The register includes, among other things, all interventions made by the municipal emergency services into a fire in a building. Building means both residential and public buildings, industrial buildings, etc. Developed fire refers to operations where there is still a fire when the emergency services arrive. The Rescue Department’s operation register only captures fires that have been the subject of a rescue operation. The number of rescue operations has then been adjusted with data from Statistics Sweden on the population of each municipality. Five-year average (year T-4 to year T).
