Total emissions of PM2.5 (particles < 2.5 microM.) from waste (including sewage) within the geographical area, measured in kg divided by number of inhabitants. Waste includes emissions from landfills, waste water treatment, bio-treatment of waste, crematories and incineration of hazardous waste, accidental fires, and other waste management. Individual industrial activities lead to high emissions locally, while the sector’s own heating reflects the conditions in the municipality well.
