Description
Total emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from waste (including sewage) within the geographical area, measured in kg divided by number of inhabitants. Waste includes emissions from landfills, waste water treatment, bio-treatment of waste, crematories and incineration of hazardous waste, accidental fires, and other waste management. Emissions should not be interpreted as consumption-based emissions. Sometimes road traffic on the core road network and individual industrial activities can lead to high emissions locally.
