Description
Total greenhouse gas emissions from transport within the geographical area, tonnes of CO2e per inhabitant. Transportation includes passenger cars, trucks, railways, mopeds/motorcycles, buses, enter air traffic, domestic civil shipping, military transport but also emissions from wear from tyres, brakes, road surface and evaporation from road vehicles. The total greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 of fossil origin and N2O, CH4, HFC, PFC, and SF6) are converted into CO2 equivalents. Emissions per inhabitant should not be interpreted as consumption-based emissions. Individual industrial activities can lead to high local emissions, as well as road traffic on the core road network or a large proportion of farms.
