Description
Total emissions of PM2.5 (particles < 2.5 microM.) from transport within the geographical area, divided by inhabitants. Transportation includes passenger cars, trucks, railways, mopeds/motorcycles, buses, enter air traffic, domestic civil shipping, military transport but also emissions from wear from tyres, brakes, road surface and evaporation from road vehicles. Emissions per inhabitant should not be interpreted as consumption-based emissions. Individual industrial activities lead to high emissions locally, while the sector’s own heating reflects the conditions in the municipality well.
