Description
Total emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from international transport within the geographical area, divided by inhabitants. International transport includes international flights below 1 000 m altitude in Swedish airspace as well as international shipping within Sweden’s borders. Emissions per inhabitant should not be interpreted as consumption-based emissions. Sometimes road traffic on the core road network and individual industrial activities can lead to high emissions locally. The key figure follows up the environmental quality objective Frisk air, see also sverigesmiljomal.se.
