Installed power per wind turbine, MW
Description
The installed power corresponds to the maximum energy that the wind turbine can theoretically deliver for one second. In practice, the effect is influenced by wind speed, air density and wind direction. Both onshore and offshore works are included in the statistics. The framework population for this publication is all wind turbines that are or have been part of the electricity certificate system or the system of guarantees of origin. Wind turbines that are or have been part of these systems are considered to include more closely all wind turbines in Sweden. A municipality’s number of works is not calculated on the exact coordinates (at the municipal border) of the location of the work (although to a large extent it corresponds) but instead prioritises ownership with regard to the registration and the connection point of the work. The statistics are based on data from the Electricity Certificate System and the Guarantee of Origin System. Electricity certificates are obtained for fifteen years, and then power producers can apply for guarantees of origin. However, not all producers apply for guarantees of origin. The reliability is thus affected by the fact that not all wind turbines are included in these systems.
