Social sustainability – Regional index
Description
Region index for the theme Social sustainability is based on Traffic accidents with rescue services per 1000 inv, Work accidents, number/100000 employed, reported violent crimes, number/100000 inv, Children 1-5 years enrolled in preschools, percentage (%), Confidence elected in municipal councils or regional councils who have been subjected to harassment, threats or violence, share (%), Population 16-84 year old smokers daily, percentage (%), population 16-84 years old with risky alcohol habits, percentage (%), Populations 16-84 years old eating fruit and vegetables more than 3 times a day, percentage (%), population 16-84 years physically active at least 150 min/week, percentage (%), fall injuries among people 65+, 3-year-old, number/100000 inn and Inpatient care, 3-year-old, number/100000 inn. The KPIs are normalised so that all regions’ values are placed on a scale from 0 to 100 where 0 is the worst and 100 is best (for some indicators, inverted scale is used). In the next step, the standardised indicator values are weighed together into indices at aspect level (currently, the theme is based on indicators in three aspects). This is done with averages, all indicators weighed together with the same weight in each aspect. The values are also at this level in the range 0 to 100. Then the index at aspect level is weighed together to the thematic level according to the same principle and these values also fall between 0 and 100. The weighting is equal for all aspects of the theme.
