Description
Municipal index for the theme Social sustainability is based on Traffic accidents with rescue services per 1000 inv, Work accidents, number/100000 employed, reported violent crimes, number/100000 inv, Children 1-5 years enrolled in preschool, share (%), Year 9 pupils eligible for vocational programmes, municipality of residence, share (%), upper secondary school pupils with a degree within 4 years, municipality of residence, share (%), residents aged 16-84 who smoke daily, percentage (%), Populations 16-84 years with risky alcohol habits, percentage (%), Residents 16-84 years old eating fruit and vegetables more than 3 times/day, percentage (%), Residents 16-84 years physically active at least 150 min/week, percentage (%), reported theft and assault offences; number/1000 invs, Case injuries among persons 65+, 3-year-old, number/100000 inv, Reported economic crimes, number/100000 inv, reported crimes against freedom and peace, number/100000 inv, reported sexual offences, number/100000 inv and injured cared in inpatient care, 3-years-old, number/100000 inv. The KPIs are normalised so that all municipalities’ values are placed on a scale from 0 to 100 where 0 is the worst and 100 is best (for some indicators, inverted scale is used). In the next step, the standardised indicator values are weighed together into indices at aspect level (currently, the theme is based on indicators in three aspects). This is done with averages, all indicators weighed together with the same weight in each aspect. The values are also at this level in the range 0 to 100. Then the index at aspect level is weighed together to the thematic level according to the same principle and these values also fall between 0 and 100. The weighting is equal for all aspects of the theme.
