Description
The ‘Week van de Vooruitgang’ (Week of Progress) is organised annually in hundreds of municipalities, this year in Groningen with the title ‘Uit de auto’ (Out of the car). This week is intended to highlight alternatives to the car for a healthier, cleaner and safer living environment.
The theme week took place in 2009 in the period from 13 to 22 September. The municipality of Groningen organised the theme weekend ‘Uit de auto’ (Out of the car) that week. In this weekend there were special actions and activities with the theme of sustainable transport.
One could travel by bus for free within the municipal boundaries and children could join the Arriva train for free with Kids4Nix.
