Between Wadden & Wierden...a world to win
Description
This report lists the opportunities and bottlenecks in the economic structure for the North and Overijssel. Exploiting opportunities is central to this. This is also the current starting point of the national government, which in the memorandum 'Space and Peaks in the Delta' has said goodbye to thinking in arrears.
The report focuses mainly on knowledge-intensive economic activities, because that too is in line with the spearheads of the national government. The interfaces between the strong branches in the economic structure of the North and Overijssel form the most important starting point.
Specifically, we will discuss a selection of three knowledge clusters, two in the North (Sustainability and Healthier Living) and one in Overijssel (Materials & Mechatronics). It is shown that the North or Overijssel are good bases for the further concentration of the relevant economic activities.
By selecting precisely these clusters, we want to try to connect as much as possible to both the national policy focus and the existing economic structure.
