Unhealthy air in nurseries and school classrooms
Description
The GGD Groningen has investigated the indoor environment in a large number of nurseries and schools. This shows that the quality of the indoor environment is often unfavourable, mainly in terms of allergens and ventilation.
The temperature in bedrooms is often too low and in summer it is too hot inside. The type of building, mechanical ventilation and the number of people per m3 influence the quality of the indoor environment.
A poor indoor environment can cause health problems and children in poorly ventilated nurseries are more often ill. Good ventilation and hygiene are essential for a good indoor environment.
