Research cable car Groningen
Description
Supported by SenterNovem, the initiators of the ‘Groningen Cable Car Feasibility Study’ project investigated the possibilities for a cable car between the Europapark, the IKEA site and the city centre.
Among other things, the following issues have been identified:
– Privacy and acceptance
– Legal and planning aspects
– Other cross-compliance requirements: engineering, safety and environment
– Establishing draft route: 2 phases, route UMCG and Forum (1 and 2)
– Financial feasibility: transport value, passenger potential, journey times, costs and benefits
– Support from city authorities, businesses and organisations
