Network analysis Groningen-Assen Region 2030
Description
The Groningen-Assen Region is important for the spatial-economic development of the North and of the Netherlands. The region also has an important role to play at international level. Partly for this reason, the Groningen-Assen Region has been designated as a national urban network (NSN) in the Spatial Policy Note.
Accessibility to and within the NSN Groningen-Assen is essential for economic development.
The Mobility Memorandum indicates that the accessibility problems are the greatest around the urban networks. Together with the national government and stakeholders (including market parties), the region carried out a network analysis to arrive at a package of measures that makes an optimal contribution to door-to-door accessibility. This is an integrated approach to transport (car, public transport, bicycle and freight transport).
